July 9th, 2015. Wanted to give a short updated! I am now working, and actually enjoying it. I have become a registered technician at this company which is known for Termite Control in Los Angeles. So far I am not licensed to be able to do termites, just general pest control. I’ve been riding along with a guy name Jerry Garcia, which is funny since I think that to be the name of a guy from the Grateful Dead? Of course, he never hears the end of it! Haha, which is funny. Anyway, the pay is not too bad at $14 an hour. I’m still living with some friends. As soon as I get some more licensing I can do termites and my job will pay me a lot more. Then I can get my own place and hopefully start surfing and save up some money and then do more traveling.
June 23rd, 2015. – Good news! Actually, great news! I have found employment. I know some people who may be reading my blog may be frustrated because it didn’t seem like it took long for me to get a job, but let me assure you it is because I have dual citizenship in the United States and France. I feel sorry for those people who cannot get a job easily. So, where am I working? I decided to become a customer service representative and dispatcher at this termite control company in Los Angeles. They do pest control and other types of exterminating. Entomology has always fascinated me, so I think this will be a good fit. My job will be to answer phones and to answer questions and then dispatch technicians. I will probably then work towards getting my license over time and then learn the requirements about becoming an Entomologist. That will take some time, but I feel it is a solid career path as there is always going to be bugs! I will keep you informed on what is next!
Well, this will be my first post since I got my blog up. I am now in the great state of California, and let me say it is way different than France. The first thing I need to do is find some employment. I have a lot of skills, and one thing I am great at is clerical work. Luckily, I am an American citizen even though I was born in France since my parents were United States citizens.
The best part of Los Angeles, is definitely the food. I went to get a bite to eat the day I landed at a place called IN-N-OUT Burger.
Let me just say that this food is GOOD. Not healthy, but it is good. So good. Probably one of the best burgers I have ever had!
